| The word |
Aug 22, 2007 12:10 am 1887 Views | | It suddenly appeared. At least that is how I saw it. Most likely it was already there, but recently my eye caught it. It was a black school board hanging at the train station. I don't know why, but today one word was written on it. The word spelled 'seeing'. I looked around to see, but I didn't know what it was I should be seeing. So tomorrow I will look again and see what the word of the day will be.

| Evie |
Jul 30, 2007 3:44 am 1463 Views | The old woman was sitting in her favorite chair, feet up on a stool for comfort. She was 83 and smiling. Not smiling because she was still in good shape, but smiling because of the 1 year old toddler in front of her. 'Get the ball Evie', she said and she rolled it over to the little girl. Evie crawled. She liked walking according to my aunt, but yet she couldn't - not without something to hold on anyways- so crawling was a good preparation for the real deal. "Good girl,' My grandma smiled. Evie had the ball and smiled back. She handed it over to her grand-grand mother and talked in her own baby language. My grandma rolled back the ball and Evie gave it back to her again. 'She can do that all day', my aunt said. And Evie smiled, because she knew how to play people. It is good to be a baby, the little blond girl though. Next week she would ask my grandma to play outside with her. And she smiled again.

| Sand |
Jul 27, 2007 12:03 am 1471 Views | | Sometimes I close my eyes. I feel the sun playing with my face. In the back I hear faded noises. In my mind I feel sand between my toes, hear children laughing and sea gulls looking for pieces of forgotten bread crumbs and fries. The water hits it's waves on the beach. I feel happy. I open my eyes and see I am back on the road to work again. Bummer.

| Flirt |
Jul 25, 2007 1:46 am 1422 Views | He was short, sitting behind the big wheel. He told me to wait and I wondered why. Not much later I saw him return. He had a beer belly and a pink blouse neatly tugged into his blue pants. Two shiny shoes underneath completed everything; he was a bus driver. The bus driver was taking his place behind the steering wheel and drove towards me. I got in and saw him talking to a girl. She was younger, thinner and prettier. She laughed at his non-jokes. I sat down and observed because, well, I had nothing else to do. I waited and saw. She laughed and seemed interested. She looked nice and he was, as men can be, totally into his story. To me it seemed he was trying to impress her and she was responding. It look like actual flirts. Not that I'm a flirt expert, but I took it as flirt. The bus stopped and we got out. Now I am here and I have one dream. I really want to be a bus driver too I already am working on the beer belly

| Questions, making life interesting |
Jul 19, 2007 5:31 am 1392 Views | The day started with sun, but it seems our golden ball is afraid of too much attention today, so she hide herself behind the clouds in the sky at this moment. But I still went out. It's still warm outside, so even without the sun I was determined to have my lunch break outside the company. So I walked to the nearby gas station to get some coffee and a sandwich. This walk gave me two new and interesting questions in life. One.. why does a person, when he has changed his tire - next to the road, leave his flat tire on same the road and making it a hazard for other traffic, instead of taking it home with him? And the second question... why do rabbit have a white tail while the rest of them is of a brownish color making them hard to spot, except for that above mentioned tale ? Wouldn't that be like painting a bulls-eye on their backs? The world is still a mystery

| BBQ |
Jul 16, 2007 7:07 am 1387 Views | | I was invited by a good friend for a delicious BBQ. It was Sunday and I went there with another friend. The food was great and much was home made, like the tapenade and the meatloaf on a stick. Delicious. But the weather was being difficult. That day the all-mighty weather men predicted sun and 30 degrees Celsius. Instead we got clouds, rain and the promised sun and heat, but all changing each other with 30 minute intervals, or so it seems. So one moment I was sweating in the baking sun and another minute I was soaked by the huge rain drops falling out of the sky. Weird weather, but the food was great. So thank you K. for the invitation.

| Hot |
Jun 8, 2007 12:14 pm 2099 Views | Nature always does what it wants. I do admire that. Today it was hot. It has been hot for the past few days and I was sweating every night. I couldn't sleep and the heat kept on waking me. Today was a day of 30 degrees Celsius and a lot of humidity. And that is what we got. Even the air-conditioner at work couldn't coop with it, so working was really tired-some. But as I entered the train it seemed Mother Nature listened to me and it started to rain. In fact it rained so much the streets were flooded in the city I live in. There was lighting and the trees were on the roads and pavements. It wasn't a flood send by God, but nevertheless more then I imaged when I heard the news in the morning; lots of sun and some rain. Well I am happy though. I was totally drained with sweat in the train and when I got outside and sat on my bike, my body soaked up the water from the sky and also the roads, thanks to some cars. But it felt refreshing, so I kept smiling and directed my bike through the puddles of water ahead of me. A good start of the weekend

| Small Dedication to Good Times |
Jun 5, 2007 2:59 am 2013 Views | I've had some bad relationships and this makes it easier to be bitter and only focus on the bad. Simply because some of the bad were very bad things. But nothing is without good. So there were a lot of good things too, maybe even more. But they are harder to remember. This weekend I was in town and I heard a song playing through the speakers. It was a song I heard the first time I was in America, alone in a hotel room with the girl I later would love. The song was appropriate because I wanted to do what they were singing about. I never did, because I didn't had the guts. But this song got stuck in my mind and got connected with the good times I had. So I heard it again and for a short time I felt the butterflies again. It is amazing what music can do to a person. In my case it reminded me of a good time and it made me smile. So this post is a dedication to the good times I sometimes tend to forget, but need to remember.
Here is the song:
Kiss me out of the bearded barley. Lightly, beside the green, green grass. Swing, swing, swing the spinning step. You wear those shoes and I will wear that dress. Oh, kiss me beneath the milky twilight. Lead me out on the moonlit floor. Lift your open hand. Strike up the band and make the fireflies dance, silver moon's sparkling. So kiss me. Kiss me down by the broken tree house. Swing me high upon its hanging tire. Bring, bring, bring your flowered hat. We'll take the trail marked on your father's map. Oh, kiss me beneath the milky twilight. Lead me out on the moonlit floor. Lift your open hand. Strike up the band and make the fireflies dance, silver moon's sparkling. So kiss me. Kiss me beneath the milky twilight. Lead me out on the moonlit floor. Lift your open hand. Strike up the band and make the fireflies dance, silver moon's sparkling. So kiss me. So kiss me. So kiss me. So kiss me.

| Dieting |
Jun 4, 2007 5:39 am 1069 Views | The yellow-green oil wets the black metal and moves around in its own unique way, really careful not to miss one spot. Bubbles appear and burst open in joy, leaving a smell in the air. The thin sliced chicken meat meets the oil and heat. A big wooden spoon stirs them around and within minutes a nicely brown coating appears on the white slippery skin. Time for the vegetables. Broccoli, onions, mushrooms, peppers and sugar snaps. I think this is looking very tasty already. Quickly I add a black bean sauce to it and the meal is almost done. Ping, says my microwave and I have my rice. This is what I do at night. I am trying to loose weight and some friends told me that using a wok is a good way to do it. So I am cooking again and I love the food I'm creating. I guess I still have China in my head

| I am happy |
Jun 2, 2007 4:24 am 943 Views | I did it, I went swimming and I did a perfect impression of a fish. So I was more under then above the water, but fish don't complain, so neither do I It has been awhile and my body was aching, but I also had a satisfying feeling. In the first place because, after much delay and excuses, I finally did hit the water to start working on my fading physical condition again and in the second place because I was the only guy in the whole swimming pool, at least for 30 minutes. So no.. I won't complain. I just smile and I will most likely return
