| Noodle soup |
Jul 15, 2008 2:24 am 493 Views | I am not a fan of noodles. The noodles I do like are cooked, fried and drowned within a sauce of my choice (lately sticky plum sauce). In China food seems much healthier, so my girlfriend and many like her, ate noodle soup. It's boiled water with a hint of chicken and a lot of long noodles. She loved it. I of course tried it too, but couldn't get the hang of it. First of all the slurping is not something commonly accepted in Holland, so I tried to eat it as polite and silently as I could. Now I know there is reason for slurping 'cause it keeps your clothes a lot cleaner then doing it the way I did. So I've become a slurpee too. But the taste still seem pretty bland to me. I keep missing the sauce. My girlfriend is Chinese and I want to adapt to her lifestyle too, so yesterday I brought some instant noodles to work. You just pour some hot water on the noodles, add powdered flavor and some instant veggies and within two minutes you have the noodles. I am still not crazy about it, but I am getting the hang of it. It was actually not that bad after all. I just hope I get used to noodles before my next meeting in China. | |
