I have been Scarred,& Battered, Barred & Tattered My Dreams, the Winds of Time, have all done Scattered. But I am still here. For there is only Me. I have healed, I have been hurt, more ever so. Learned of many Things , that Life itself brings. But yet in Instances I remain , forever not to know. But I am still here. For there is only Me. I have known Love, & Hate. Joy & Sorrow Embarked upon Endless Journeys in search, of a better Tomorrow. That forever remained in the Distance, with each Direction turned With Longing, waiting, for something to be yearned. But I am still here. For there is only Me. I have known Life, and of Death itself; Seen, Felt, & Heard. Events, Experiences, Tragedies, that belie any Description of Word. You have known of Me, as I of You. One Form or another. In Friendship passed, In Love that did not last; and in 3 Wars, as Comrade & Brother. But I am still here. And I remain. For there is, only Me. Time of itself, in its Passing, has much Weight & Measure provided. By Trial & Test, through Failure & Success; By Honor & Deed, Word & Task. That which was, in Pursuit most sought , would eventually become, all for nought, Albeit the one True Wish for self, I had only ever asked. But I am still here. And I remain. For there is, only Me. Much remains to be completed; Much remains to be seen. To pursue One Last Hope, to capture One Last Dream. To continue in Journeys many, as numerous have already been. To know further of this World, of a Future, and to learn what lies therein. And I shall be here, and I shall remain. For there is only Me. River, Ocean, & Sea will be traversed, over higher Mountains crossed. Trails & Paths ahead, once more to follow; pray that I shall not be Lost. I shall stroll Valley & Meadow, Forest & Hedge, Glen & Field. With Fortitude, Determination, & Strength, I shall not ever yield. And I will be there, and I shall remain. For there is , only Me. |

I can relate to your poem particularly the line of knowing love and hate, joy and sorrow. I've actually not experience hatred but certainly love,joy and sorrow. Well written and full of meaning. OceanSong
